Raddison now called Holiday Inn Select
From Paul Fletcher...
"The Radisson Hotel is now the Holiday Inn Select. Same location, same rates, same shuttle........except the Radisson is now called the "Holiday Inn Select".
If I am bald when you all arrive you will know why! While eating dinner two nights ago and watching the 6:00pm News I saw footage of the Radisson Hotel changing all of their logos! Yesterday, I went by the hotel to complete my contract for the 2005 Collegiate Nationals and saw that EVERY sign now reads "Holiday Inn Select".
Everyone in Baton Rouge knows where the Radisson (now Holiday Inn Select) is located and when you are asking for directions......I would continue to refer to it as the Radisson (as there are several Holiday Inns in Baton Rouge)."

On Site Medical/Chiropractic Services
Dr. Shay Corbin (Sports Chiropractor for LSU) will be coordinating all medical services on site at the Radisson Hotel in the Warm-Up room. He will have three tables to provide pre-meet, during-the-meet and post-meet treatment for those who need his assistance. You can contact him to set up appointments for pre-meet treatment via his web site: www.docshay.com
We will also have a Physician on site.
EMS will provide two representatives Full Time during the event. They will have the ability to transport immediately, should we need to. This is a coummunity service that they provide. Please give them a thank you when you walk by their table.
I hope that we will not need any of the emergency services. But you can rest assured that they will be there should we need them.

Ladies Night Scheduled for Friday Night
We are currently planning for a "Ladies Night" on Friday evening- July 9 (7:00pm) at the Mens Nationals. A maximum of 12 ladies will be invite. These ladies will be expected to attempt an American or World Record. I know that each year several Women attend the Mens Nationals (many fresh from Worlds) in order to shoot pictures for their next calendar. This may be a neat opportunity for some of our best Women lifters to showcase their talent.
At this point the following have expressed and interest:
Dana Deutsch
Katie Ford
Jennie Hollier
Christy Newman
Priscilla Ribic
Jennifer Thompson
Liz Willett
Nicholls State female lifters
I will furnish the judges, spotters, etc. There will be no entry fee. Lifters who break any records will need to cover the cost of their Drug Test.
I originally had intended to incorporate some sort of cash incentive to break records. However, as it stands now, I am trying to save as much as I can until I know how much the Live Web Cast will cost me.
Any USAPL ladies who wish to lift at "Ladies Night" at the Mens Nationals please let me know.

Mens Nationals Webcast
Folks (thanks to Tony Cardella) I am currently communicating with a company which will be able to broadcast the 2004 USAPL Mens Nationals World-Wide live via web cast and then allow you to purchase your lifting session on-line and download/burn your own CD of a particular session (I've been informed the coast of this would be about $10.00/to download per session). Advertisers will also be able to advertise on this media. I've explained to him that I am not interested in making money off of this venture- my primary objective is to move Powerlifting and our Meet Production up a notch. It will cost a few thousand to get a production crew and three cameras (warm-up room, 45 degree angle on the platform and straight on the platform). This looks like a neat opportunity and any advertisers and sponsors are welcome. WE COULD BE WORLD-WIDE LIVE IN JULY! Watch the site for more info.

Passes for Team Coaches
Lifter and Coaches,
Our Warm-up area is huge and will be equipped with 4 warm-up stations. I do not expect that there will be any congestion problems, as this room can easily accomodate up to 200 people.
However, the Warm-up room will be monitored in order that lifers will have ample space and freedom to stretch, warm-up, and relax. We will also have a Chiropractor and Athletic Trainer in the Warm-Up room.
Individual Coach's Pass
Each lifter will get one Coach's Pass for the session that he/she lifts in. This Coach's Pass will admit one coach to the Warm-Up Room.
Team Coach's Passes
Each Team (USAPL Registered and entered in the meet as a team) will get 2 (two) coaches passes which will include two weekend passes for the entire event. The two Coach's passes will allow these Coaches in the Warm-Up room for the entire event.
Please contact me if you have any questions about Coach's Passes.

The legendary Mike Bridges will make his return to the Mens Nationals this year! Now a Master lifter, this well known fireplug from the midwest is sure to turn some heads!
Look for a huge showdown between the 181ers in this class, since Ricks and Wagner will have other plans for the return of Mike Bridges!
