Why did you start lifting/competing: I was pretty small and weak when I
first got into law enforcement. In fact one of my fellow officers (A
Woman) used to call me petite!
I joined my first gym in 1984 and when I started working out, there were
two women that were my size on the bench next to me. I knew I was weak
but didn't know I was THAT weak - Cause they both benched MORE than
me....Needless to say, I only did a few reps and quickly went over to
the leg press where I tried to save face! That experience was so
embarrassing for me that I didn't go back to a gym until 5 years later.
My first meet was the California Police Games and I was hooked after
that.
Person you most look up to: Being 5'-5", I look up to almost everybody!
Favorite foods: Steak and greasy Carl's Jr. Burgers - The more fat the
better!
Favorite foods for cheating: I cheat at every meal - That's why I
power-lift and not body-build!
The drink you absolutely love: Coke and Coffee - None of this diet
or caffeine free crap either!
Advice for beginners: Read all you can about lifting and try to learn
about as many different routines and theories as possible. Don't be
afraid of gaining weight and moving up weight classes. A lot of people
are intimidated about moving up weight classes....But the body will
respond favorably with increases in bodyweight and you'll be lifting
heavier poundages before you know it.
Tell us the things that nobody would EVER guess about you: Eye myte bee
a red-nek cuz I dun also compeet in profeshanol bass fishin'
tourneymints.
What kind of collections do you own: I have about 5,000 artificial
fishing lures and MOST of my original teeth!
Tell us the most recent impulsive thing you've done? Bought more
fishing lures!
Give us some predictions on what to expect at the 2005 Benchpress
Nationals: Another good show between Larry Miller and I!
Final thoughts (On anything): St. Louis also has a Bass Pro Shop! Can
you say expand my lure collection!!!!!
