About the logo: Mixing the old with the new, the logo is a blend between both past and present.
Inspired by the architectural work of Frank Lloyd Wright, the meet design sports smooth curves, with an industrial, high-rise, modern look & feel.
The logo also pays tribute to the tallest monument in the world, the 630 ft. catenary curve known as the Gateway Arch. As tall as it is wide, and planted in a foundation of bedrock nearly as deep as it is tall,
Eero Saarinen's creation that opened in 1965 is one of the strongest structures man has created.
Going back further, the trumpet in honor of the city's Blues history. The paddle wheeler represents a by-gone era when the boats cruised the river.
The La Fleur de Lys, is symbolic of the French heritage of the Gateway City on the River known as St. Louis.
About the artist:
Through trial and plenty of error, Rick Fowler has been creating logos and websites for close to 7 years. A web developer for Enterprise Rent-A-Car by day, Fowler spends
evenings between training the three lifts, playing with his kids and working hard to pull the next idea from his head. A continual work in progress, Fowler's skills have come a long way
but still have much improving to do. We hope you have enjoyed the Womens Nationals artwork, and hope you have a great time as our guests at the 2005 Womens Nationals Weekend!
