Full bio for Carly
Best Lifts:
" 342 squat; 198 bench; 402 deadlift; 942 total "

Sports prior to powerlifting:
" I played soccer for 8 years, basketball for 5 years, volleyball for 2 years, and track for 1 year. Giving up these sports was hard for me, but I decided I needed to focus my time on Powerlifting if I wanted to excel. My first year lifting I played soccer and basketball, my second year I played only basketball, and my third year I ran track. My fourth year lifting I played soccer for a couple months. I'm currently only doing Powerlifting. (Have been competing 4 years) "

Favorite foods:
" Sloppy Joe's, Ice cream and fruit "

Favorite foods if not dieting:
" Those are my favorite foods no matter what"

Hobbies and interests outside of powerlifting:
" In the summer my friends and I do extreme tubing on the lake. It is my absolute favorite thing to do. If I could, I would be tubing from sun up to sun down everyday. "

If given an afternoon or entire evening to yourself, you would most likely do what:
" I would lounge in my pool, sip n' on lemonade and soaking up the sun "

Do you collect anything?
" I don't really collect anything...except shoes "

Last book you read:
" "A Man Named Dave", its part of a series that follows the true story of an abused boy "

Favorite musical artists:
" I like all kinds of music, but if i had to narrow it down to my favorite, it would probably be Bob Seger and Metallica "

If stranded on an island, what book/magazine, cd, food & drink would you want?
" I would have to have one of my own mixes for a cd, a big pot of sloppy Joe's, and fruit, with water and plenty of oversized margaritas! My book of choice would have to be "Stranded on an Island for Dummies" "

People would never guess this about you:
" If they didn't know me, most people wouldn't guess that I was a Powerlifter. Other than that I really don't know. "

If queen for a day you would do what differently:
" I would close down all fast food restaurants just to see what people would do. Then I would go to an amusment/water park and cut to the front of the lines all day. "

Who has had the most impact on your career:
" My coach, Tod Miller. He makes up my workouts and plans everything for me. He pushes me to train harder. He's there to open the weight room for his daughters and I on Saturdays and holidays. And he is always there to fix any problems with my technique. I can't forget the he'll never fail to let me know that my cheeks are getting fat again, I need to stop eating so much. He is a great coach! "

What lifter(s) do you really look up to:
" I look up to all off the older lifters on the team. When I see them lifting it proves to me that I can still do this well with lifting and have a career or a family of my own in the future. Their success makes me train harder, for that I thank all of them. "

Give us your quotes for the upcoming Women's Nationals in St. Louis:
" Lets get down to business ladies! Big numbers and lots of PR's "

The defining moment that made you realize you wanted to compete:
" I don't really think there was just one defining moment. It just kinda happened. "

The defining moment of your life:
" I'm not really sure of one yet. "
