I was born and raised in Pine Bluff, AR where I didn't excell in all of the above listed sports, but did compete and display leadership. After graduation, I moved to Ruston, LA and received an undergraduate degree in Mathematics with a Concentration in Statistics. Here I found two of my greatest loves, my fiance Courtney Davis and powerlifting.
I then moved on to live in Duluth, GA to pursue a Master's degree in Mathematics Education. I did not begin right away, as a matter of fact, I am just recently in my 3rd semester and will be finishing this Summer 2007. I must say throughout these changes I have been blessed to continuously have the love and support of my family and make everlasting friendships.

Q: What made you decide to compete in powerlifting?
A: I began powerlifting because I was asked by my RA on the first day of class to come to practice and sign up for the class my freshmen year at LaTech. I have always hated weights, and instead I have always liked to run. Now, it is completely the opposite. Eventhough I did not start out really well, I knew this was an opportunity for me to learn a lot and have yet to stop.
Q: At what point did you have the lightbulb moment and realize "Hey, I actually have a shot at being the National Champion"?
A: I never got that effect, because during competitions, I never knew if I was winning or losing unless I was competing alone. I knew it would eventually happen because I competed solo quite often.
Q: Tell us about your profession: what do you do for a living?
A: Currently, I am a mathematics teacher at Clarke Central High School and in the graduate program at the University of Georgia.
Q: What are the most extreme conditions you've had to go through in training?
A: For the past few years, I have had to train between 4 and 7 am to get it in before work. It is really tough when you get out of bed and it is dark and 15 degrees outside.
Q: Tell the readers what your daily meals consist of as the contest gets closer.
A: Currently, my meals consist of egg whites, 2 protein shakes, 2 servings of chicken, 2 servings of fruit, and green vegetables.
Q: Now tell us all of the foods you'll eat in the weeks after the Mens Nationals
A: This....That....and Everything in between!
Q: The all-time best meal you've ever had: where was it and what was it?
A: Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, strawberry and kiwi koolaid, and banana pudding made from scratch.
Q: You are stranded on an island: What CD, book, food and drink would you have with you
A: A James Brown Greatest Hits cd, the Bible, peanut butter and jelly, steak, koolaid.
Q: When not lifting, what are your hobbies?
A: Learning and sleeping
Q: What kind of collection(s) do you own? And what?
A: Music and sharp objects.
Q: People would never guess this about you:
A: Other than the fact that I really am tall, I can tap dance.
Q: What type of intensity can we expect to see from you once the bell rings and the fight to keep your title has begun?
A: Not much, just make sure your hair pieces are glued on tight.
