Meet Johnny Graham, Event Director
Johnny Graham is the Championship Director for the 2008 Mens Open, Teen & Junior National Powerlifting Championships . Along with that title, Johnny has acquired several others in his long and distinguished career.
Mr. Graham is retired from the United States Army where his duties were many. Johnny began as a sniper in the Special Forces, was a Drill Sergeant, a Tank Commander and rose to the rank of 1st Sergeant. He spent quite a few year at Ft. Hood, Texas where he retired after 20 years. Today he is still connected to the troops at Ft. Hood, through his work with the Phantom Corps Powerlifting Team, coaching and traveling to events.
In addition, he is a several time Masters National Powerlifting Champion, an IPF Silver Medalist, a World Record holder in the squat (711 lbs. set in 2003) as well as a big helping hand in the USA Powerlifting Military Program.
In 2000, Johnny was presented USA Powerlifting's highest honor, when he was presented the Brother Bennett Award. The award is presented each year to the lifter, coach or volunteer who exemplifies the values set forth by our founder, Brother Bennett.
Johnny is honored to present this year's edition of USA Powerlifting's Mens Open, Teen and Junior Championships.
Meet Lynette Lopez
Lynette Lopez plays as much part in Johnny Graham's National Championships as anyone. A major player behind the scenes, she is counted on and is a huge asset to Johnny.
Lynette comes from a Military family and began powerlifting with Johnny 10 years ago. A winner of several National Powerlifting Championships and even a Bronze Medal on the World level, Lynette puts her experience to work as Director of the Burba Fitness Center at Ft. Hood. Lynette is originally from Chaumont, New Mexico.
