With names such as Mike Bridges, Kelvin Hayes, Nathan Awad, Brady Stewart and Eleanora Reeves, the 2010 edition of the USAPL Illinois State Powerlifting and Benchpress Championships was wildly exciting!
Throw in the wild Irishman, Jim Bell who talks to the Heavens before each lift, and you have a bang up event loaded with big lifts.
As the meet director, I want to say Thank You, first and foremost to Mark and Sue Motsinger, who continue to be a cornerstone for USA Powerlifting in Illinois.
Second, I'd like to say Thank You to all of the staff who make the events so much better. We have quite a team that produces a top notch product for the athletes. Everyone should take great pride in the job we do each time.
And last, the events would not be possible were it not for the athletes, who are the real reason that we have them. Thank you to the 59 powerlifters who love competing in drug tested meets with a set of rules to lift by.
